It always makes me smile

It happened again at the weekend.  Sitting around chatting with some people and the subject of kids came up.  Some were talking about the second child being easier than the first, I said I didn't know as I only had one, I was asked how old mine was and when I responded "23" the person's mouth just fell open.

Its a luvly feeling to know I don't look old enough to have a 23 year old daughter.

I am extremely grateful to my good genes for that!

Also today someone asked me if I had lost some weight, when I responded proudly that yes I had in fact lost 3 1/2 stone they were shocked and asked for my secret.  I have no secret, I just work damn hard at the gym.  But it feels good that people are noticing, because I am at the point where I still see my flaws, and how far I have to go, rather than how far I have come.  So it is good to get that reminder.

I am grateful for that reminder too.

on Saturday one of my friends was discussing my weight loss with me, and stated that I was starting to loose my boobs.  I don't want to loose them altogether, but have definately noticed there is less of them than there used to be.

I am not sure if I am grateful for that or not.

What makes you smile?  What are you grateful for?

12 September 2013

As any of you who actually read my blog know I have been participating in #blogtember, which is a fantastic idea, cos it means I haven't had to think about what to write.

But I have got lazy.  I have not been looking for the good in things.

Seeing the good in things was why I started this to begin with.

So today I start looking for the good.

Yes it is raining, but the plants, flowers and crops will grow.

Yes I am tired, but I have been training hard and I am getting fitter.

Yes work is busy, but I have a job when lots of people do not.

I woke up this morning in a warm, comfortable bed, next to my husband who loves me, without fail, and my daughter was sleeping in the next room.  Life doesn't really get much better than that.

Yes there are loads of things I want, but I don't really need anything.

I am grateful for my life.

Thank you.

April 3 2013

Ever realise just how lucky u are? Ever just sit and wonder what u did to get this lucky? Lately that's what I have been doing.

Baby girl is great. She grew up good. She has a good head on her shoulders. She is kind. She is polite and she cares. I did good with that one. :-) I am proud of her.

R I picked. And he picked me. And we are so well matched its unbelievable. I wrote a list years ago of my perfect man.
In no particular order:
Is proud of me
Introduces me to his friends
Holds my hand in public
Is honest and truthful
Nice eyes and mouth
Wants to be seen with me
Makes me laugh
Loves me

And R fills that and more

He is EVERYTHING I ever wished for and more.

Just like baby girl.

I am spoiled and I am very grateful.

Thank you.

February 6 2013

Hi all. Today one of the girls in work asked me how I was enjoying married life. I suppose I am still a newly wed. I have been married just over two months. I was with R for about three years before that and we lived together for two of those. Before we lived together we saw each other pretty much every day.

It wasn't a big deal for us to get married. Nothing really changed. We had already worked out most of the niggly who does what around the house. And who leaves dirty socks on the floor (me).

But when the girl in work asked me I just smiled and told the truth without thinking.

It is the best thing I have ever done since I had my daughter.

I live with the two people I love more than anything. Baby girl and R.

I am lucky beyond words.

I count my blessings everyday and am very grateful.

January 22 2013

Yesterday I went to the gym and the girl there told me she could notice a difference in me. I have been going two weeks.

Today I wore jeans to work. With a short top. To many of you that's not a big deal. To those of you with a belly, well those girls understand. I know I still have quite a way to go but I feel real good about how far I have came.

I am grateful for the confidence going to the gym has given me. I still don't like it. In fact I really don't understand how anybody could like it. But I go. Three times a week. Through rain and snow. No shine tho, it is winter!

I am also grateful for my family. For the love they give me every day.

What are you grateful for?
